OUR SERVICES
JME Healeys offer all aspects of Austin Healey servicing and maintenance. With a team of 10 highly skilled craftsmen drawing from over 70 years of Healey knowledge, there is nothing that can't be achieved in this workshop. All work is carried out in-house to assure the highest quality is achieved in all areas. Our directors, Chris and Dan Everard, are both highly skilled engineers who have grown up with Austin Healeys, and attention to detail is our highest priority.
SERVICING
JME Healeys offers all aspects of Healey servicing. JME’s complete service schedule fully assesses every
aspect of your vehicle allowing you to know the exact
condition of your vehicle on an annual basis. An advisory
sheet is also issued upon completion listing future recommendations.
ENGINE & GEARBOX
All JME’s Austin Healey engines are built in-house by our skilled technicians. All specialist machining work is outsourced and completed to our requirements. We are able to meet your requirements, whether you are after a standard engine for your car, fast road spec or one our race winning 100/4 race or Rally winning 3000 engines. We offer full or partial gearbox rebuilds. Race & rally gearboxes can be built upon request. JME currently stock fully rebuilt gearboxes and overdrives that are ready to fit. These are offered on an exchange basis.
BODY & PAINT
Paul Robbins, our lead painter, has worked for JME Healeys since he started his apprenticeship for Harold and Jonathan Everard in the early 80's. Paul has painted a number of show winning cars, 9 works Healeys and over 250 Healeys in total. Pauls background and knowledge of bodyfit and paintwork of Austin Healeys is second to none. Using upto date products and materials allows us to achieve the highest quality paint finishes and all this completed in-house.
TRIM & UPHOLSTERY
JME’s in house trimmers offer a bespoke service
enabling our customers to specify their interior to
exactly match their requirements whether it be
minor work, a full re-trim or upgrades.
Using original patterns and modern trimming
techniques our trimmers work only to
the highest standards.
We can repair existing interiors, or tailor a fresh interior to precisely fit your car. Customers can choose any combinations of materials and colours that match the original, or can design a new full leather interior that exceeds quality of the original cars. We are able to guide and display to you,
comfort upgrades that will improve the driving experience such as sound and heat proofing.
JME’s trimmers produce tailored hoods and tonneaus to suit each individual frame and car. Whether you require original everflex or mohair, our
trimmers attention to detail will transform the wet weather gear of your car.
Our in-house trimming capabilities allows you to visit and view our craftsmen at work. We keep a range of materials in stock allowing you to discuss with us your trimming & upholstery requirements.
FABRICATION
JME Healeys have a fully equipped fabrication workshop separated from the main workshop. This allows us to keep all the messy restoration work well away from the cars in the main workshop. Our 2 fulltime skilled metal workers have a wealth of knowledge and experience with Austin Healeys and their attention to detail is second to none. We use correct frames and jigs to ensure all inner structure work is positioned correctly allowing for accurate outer body fits. All inner panels are handmade to correct original specifications and dimensions. Extra time and care are taken when fitting and aligning outer panels to assure that all gaps and swage lines meet perfectly.
RESTORATION
JME Healeys strives to offer the highest standard of Austin Healey Restoration by working in partnership with the owner. We understand that the restoration process of Austin Healeys is both a costly and lengthy process for all involved. Through careful discussion, planning, preparation and consultation, we can ensure each individual customer has an Austin Healey that meets their vision, displaying quality and character.
JME Healeys offers an array of in-house craftsmanship, with over 40 years of knowledge and experience, to allow all Austin Healeys to be hand built to original specifications. Each member of the JME Healey team, demonstrates their individual skills, whilst working together to allow this seamless delivery.
While exploring the site you can discover the journey that JME Healeys takes with its customers, through each stage of the restoration process, through to the final commissioning and road testing, to deliver you the best quality product that yourselves and JME can be rightfully proud of.
Our portfolio exemplifies our commitment to improving and maintaining these iconic classic British sports cars. We have many examples that have passed through our hands, restored to, or exceeding their original condition. Modern materials and manufacturing processes, allow for an improved finish, performance and are much better protected from corrosion and time related deterioration.
100S RECREATIONS
J.M.E 100s recreations are down to the last rivit copies of the fabulous Austin Healey 100s. The complete inner structure is in aluminium as per the original 100s. All outer panels including wings, doors, bonnet and boot lid are also aluminium.
These cars are built to an extremely high quality and technical specification, including the correct Dunlop disc brakes, original oil cooler assembly, etc. The engines are built to an original standard spec or modified to the customers requirements to include either 2’’ S.U. carbs or Webber carbs and manifolds.
The interior trim is in full leather and includes unique 100s seats. These cars are beautifully made and built to exactly F.I.A. spec. They are eligible for full competition as they are recognised by the F.I.A and the car can be supplied with the correct F.I.A. paperwork if required.
COMPETITION
JME Healeys offer a complete preparation service for all race and rally Healeys.
Having achieved a number of successes in the 1990’s driving the ex Pat Moss Healey, SMO 745, and our own works replica, GNX 521C (the only Austin Healey to win the Classic Marathon), our experience speaks for itself.

All levels of competition are catered for from club to full international, offering partial competition preparation to full ‘works type’ spec. We have completed Healeys for customers over the years who have competed in the Liege Rome Liege, the London to Peking rally, Ypres and the Alpine rally.
